What is Ithala Education Platform?

A cloud solution platform developed by the GoDigitalSA Foundation (GDSAF) that enabled the pilot project that was established and rolled out in 2020, in collaboration with Ithala SOC. The pilot project targeted Grade 12 learners with the seven subjects – Accounting, Computer Applications Technology (CAT), English First Additional Language (FAL), isiZulu Home Language (HL), Geography, Mathematics, Physical Science.

What Grades do you cover?

What subjects do you cover?

Accounting, Computer Applications &Technology (CAT), English (FAL), isiZulu (HL), Geography, Mathematics, Physical Science. The lessons include the added value of Learner Wellness and Career Guidance, and an Advance Pillar with Information Technology themes, and Financial Literacy.

I do not have data?

The myithala.education platform has applied for zero-rated status, which will mean that you will not need data to access the site in future. You will need data until this comes through.

To participate in the lessons and to use the website content you must Register on the site using your email address. You will need to create an email address if you don’t have one.

How do I get the past exam papers?

You can download past papers on the Study Library page.

How do I join this Platform?

You must Register on the site. If you do not have an email address, there is information on how to create one.

Can I get a summary of a topic?

If you want to request a summary or pose a question about a specific topic in a Subject lesson, please use the Contact email on this website. Soon you will also be able to do so via the Mobi App.

Can I get voice notes of a topic?

There is a Mobisite where you can post your name and question.

Can I access it through the radio?

Similar to the 2020 pilot project, channeling through Ukhozi FM is being negotiated by Ithala.

When do the exams start?

Can I apply here for University?

No. Use CAO (KZN) for KZN. For all of South Africa:

How do we get our exam results?

Via the Department of Education’s website – go to the DBE link on the footer of this website. Remember to have your identity number on hand!

Why is an email important? So that we can send you
your login details and you can get important
information.

If you do not have an email address you can create an
email by using the Google Mail (Gmail) link below.

Google Mail (Gmail):

Go to www.gmail.com.
Click Create account.
The sign-up form will appear. Follow the directions by entering the required information.
Next, enter your phone number to verify your account. Google uses a two-step verification process for your security.
You will receive a text message from Google with a verification code. Enter the code to complete the account verification.
Next, you will see a form to enter some of your personal information, like your name and birthday.
Review Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then click I agree.
Your account will be created.

Just like with any online service, it's important to choose a strong password—in other words, one that is difficult for someone else to guess. For more information, review our lesson on creating strong passwords.

Signing in to your account
When you first create your account, you will be automatically signed in. Most of the time, however, you'll need to sign in to your account and sign out when you're done with it. Signing out is especially important if you're using a shared computer (for example, at a library or office) because it prevents others from viewing your emails.
To sign in:

Go to www.gmail.com.
Type your user name (your email address) and password, then click Next.
